We built Claudia’s Place, a mother-in-law apartment, which shares a front porch with The Main House, in 1995, for Alan’s mother, Claudia. There’s a queen bed in the bedroom and a twin bed in the living/kitchen room. It has beautiful antique maple floors, recycled from a 1910 warehouse in Oakland, California, refinished one piece at a time. We salvaged and reused beautiful 1940s windows from Diamond Head military housing that was being demolished in the 1970s. The spacious bedroom and bathroom were designed for wheelchairs. TV, dvd, electric mattress pads, heater, apartment sized stove and fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster.
For groups of eight to fourteen people, The Main House, Claudia’s Place and the Upstairs, in combination, provide three queen beds, eight twin beds, and three and a half baths. And a kitchen set up that works to feed everyone as well as store all the fixings. Your group will have a great time. If you rent the other three cottages as well, we can handle up to twenty six.
